Our tours adhere to all practices of responsible tourism. We aim to leave little impact on our environment and protect the flora and fauna that live in this part of the world.
Many of the Orangutans that live here have been released by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which is why they are used to the guides who they see regularly. There are also wild Orangtans who are protected in these forests.
Our jungle trekking follows a strict code of no contact with the Orangutans. We ask our tourists to keep at least 2 or 3 metres away from the Orangutans and to not feed them.
Aside from environmental protection, Jungle Edie also runs many projects in the community which include a school in remote Selang Pangeran where children can come to learn English from the volunteers.
There is also the chance to purchase trees for planting to rehabilitate the forests and ensure that the animals have a place to live in the future.
